Great speeds, but check on phone numbers!

Got a great discount when signing up for Gigafast Broadband as a new customer, which was automatically applied. The speeds are fantastic and I'm really impressed with the Mesh WiFi system. The only slight hiccup was confirming if I could keep my existing phone number, which required a bit of digging to figure out.

Good speed, installation delays

I signed up for the 1Gbps Full Fibre plan and the speeds have been consistently excellent, which is great for our household. The setup itself was straightforward once the engineer arrived. However, getting to that point took longer than expected; the initial installation date was pushed back by nearly two weeks, which was a bit frustrating as I had to rearrange my schedule. Customer service was responsive when I called, but they didn't offer much in the way of compensation for the delay. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service itself, but they could definitely improve their scheduling and communication around installation times.

So happy with Gigafast!

I got the Gigafast Broadband and it's absolutely fantastic! The internet is lightning fast and I haven't had any dropouts at all. Streaming, gaming, working from home – everything runs super smoothly. Installation was quick and the technician was really friendly. I'm so glad I switched to Hey Broadband, it's made such a difference! I will definitely shop again and tell all my friends about it!

Internet is pretty good

I got the Superfast Broadband deal after seeing it pop up in my area. Installation was free which was nice, and the guy who set it up was sound. The internet is way faster than what I had before, makes streaming movies much better. Sometimes the WiFi can be a bit patchy in the back bedroom, so I might need to look into one of those Mesh WiFi things, but for the main living areas it's absolutely grand. Overall, pretty decent.

Consistently reliable service

This is my third year with Hey Broadband, and they continue to impress. I started with their 400Mbps plan and recently upgraded to 1Gbps Full Fibre. Each time, the process has been seamless. What I appreciate most is the consistent speed and reliability; I rarely experience any downtime, which was a huge issue with my previous provider, Virgin Media. This upgrade was just as smooth as the initial setup. I also got a Static IP Address this time, and it was easily added to my account. They've maintained their quality of service over the years, which is why I keep coming back.

Smooth switch, solid performance

I switched from BT to Hey Broadband for their 150Mbps Full Fibre plan. The ordering process online was intuitive, and I received email updates throughout. Installation was scheduled efficiently, and the engineer arrived on time, completed the setup within an hour, and ensured the Nokia WiFi Beacons were properly configured for optimal coverage in my two-story home. Speeds are consistently what I signed up for, even during peak hours, which is a significant improvement. I also added their Home Phone Service, and porting my old number was hassle-free. The router they provided is decent, though I did consider adding another WiFi Extender for a particularly tricky corner of the house, but the beacons handled it fine. No activation fee was charged, as promised.

Does Hey Broadband use the Openreach network or do they have their own cables? Just wondering about reliability and potential issues.

S Shane Reyes 1 month ago
Nah, they don't use Openreach. They have their own fibre network, which is why they can offer those symmetrical speeds and often reach places Openreach hasn't upgraded yet.

M Mark 1 month ago
It's their own infrastructure, not Openreach. That's usually a good thing because it means less congestion and often better service since they control the whole thing.

Thinking of going with the 1Gbps, but I'm in Manchester. How long does the installation typically take once you've signed up? Don't want to be without internet for ages.

N Nick G. 1 month ago
Mine was pretty quick actually, maybe a week or two from ordering to them coming out. The actual install day took a few hours.

It can depend on your specific address, like if they need to dig up the pavement or anything. But usually it's not too bad, like a couple of weeks max in my experience, based on what my neighbours said too.

Is Hey Broadband genuinely better than Virgin Media, especially for gaming and streaming? Virgin's been a bit flaky for me lately.

T Tom Beaumont 2 months ago
From my experience, yeah, way better. Virgin uses coax for the last bit often, which can be less stable. Hey Broadband is full FTTP so it's super consistent, lower latency too.

J Julia 2 months ago
Definitely. I switched from Virgin and it's a night and day difference. No more random slowdowns, and the upload speeds are a game changer if you're into streaming or uploading content.

Considering Hey Broadband but I'm a student. Do they have any specific discounts for us poor souls?

N Noor 2 months ago
I think they do actually! My flatmate mentioned something about a student discount when we were looking. Might be worth checking their site or giving them a call.

Yep, they usually have student deals, especially around September when uni starts. Keep an eye out or ask directly, sometimes it's a specific link.

Hey guys, thinking of switching to Hey Broadband. Does anyone know if they do those referral bonuses, like an Amazon voucher or something for signing up through a friend?

T Todd B. 2 months ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got a £25 Amazon voucher when my mate referred me last year. Took about a month after installation to get it, but it was legit.

F Faith Kim 2 months ago
They've had those deals for a while. Just make sure your friend gives you their specific referral link, that's how it tracks it. Otherwise you might miss out.
